Our Partners have joined with us on our journey and provide a wide-range of support, including donations, fundraising initiatives, volunteer help, in-kind contributions, and funding for new facilities and equipment. We are extremely grateful for their ongoing support.
Independent Pharmacies Australia
Steven Kastrinakis, Founder and Managing Director of Independent Pharmacies Australia (IPA) met Stephen Davie through a mutual friend in 2023. This led to IPA and its employees and business partners stepping in to support Growing Cambodia in a big way, with contributions of over A$60,000 in 2024, including A$25,000 for the construction of a new learning centre complete with furniture and computers at our Beng school in the Siem Reap region.
IPA has also provided A$38,000 for the purchase and operation of Growing Cambodia's first bus to assist in transporting over 70 students from nearby villages to our Beng school.
Growing Cambodia expresses its deep appreciation to IPA and looks forward to an exciting future in continuing to jointly work to support Cambodian children.
Kawana Waters State College
Kawana Waters is a prep. to year 12 college on the Queensland Sunshine Coast.
In 2018, through one of our Queensland based board members, Stephen Davie met Lyn Duffy, Deputy Principal at Kawana Waters, and a close partnership grew.
Since this time, the school and its students have worked tirelessly to support the work of Growing Cambodia.
The school raises significant funds every year for our work.. The students collect and donate needed items to the students in Cambodia, including 1400 pencil cases, wheelchairs, health supplies, books and computer equipment.
Each year, year 10, 11 and 12 students visit our schools in Cambodia, at their own cost, to undertake voluntary work and share experiences. These volunteer visits are a source of great celebration for the local communities, as they provide an opportunity for the Cambodian students to interact through practising English, singing songs, dancing and playing games.
The Ware Family
From the very beginning Trevor and Adrienne Ware and their family have been incredibly generous supporters of Growing Cambodia. Their generosity includes hosting Open Garden Days and Dinners at their beautiful private property on Phillip Island, as well as donating items for our Annual Fundraisers and supporting one of our schools at Kok Beng.
Upon his return from Cambodia in 2012, Stephen talked about his experiences with family friends, the Wares, and Trevor and Adrienne immediately jumped on board !
Trevor takes up the story: “Upon listening to Stephen we also believed in the transformative power of education, especially in learning a global language like English, which can open doors to opportunities. In a country like Cambodia, many children do not have access to proper educational support. By sponsoring the Growing Cambodia programs, we are helping children who are willing to put in the time and effort to improve their lives and contribute positively to their villages. We also believe the support fosters a sense of hope and possibility for a brighter future and that our involvement can also inspire others to take similar actions and create a ripple effect of positive change. We are proud to be involved with this organisation that allows others to make such a change.”
